Berlin – Schock am Montagmorgen: Beim Entleeren eines Recycling-Containers nahe dem Alexanderplatz hörten die Arbeiter plötzlich Schreie aus dem Bauch ihres Fahrzeugs. Ein Obdachloser hatte vermutlich in dem Container für Pappe und Papier übernachtet. Der 33-Jährige rief noch um Hilfe, dann schluckte ihn das Müllauto. Gegen 6.37 Uhr ging der erste Notruf bei der Polizei ein. Die Arbeiter hatten den Entleerungs-Mechanismus gestoppt. Die Feuerwehr sollte helfen, weil sich der Container nicht einfach wieder abladen ließ – sonst hätte die Presse im Müllwagen den Menschen zerquetscht. Um zu dem eingeklemmten Mann zu gelangen und seinen Zustand festzustellen, mussten die Retter von außen Löcher in das Müllfahrzeug schneiden. Zu dem Zeitpunkt war der 33-Jähriger allerdings schon tot. Ein Sprecher der Feuerwehr in Berlin zu BILD: „Wir waren seit 6.50 Uhr mit 40 Kollegen in der Rosenstraße im Einsatz.“ Die Leiche konnte am Fundort nicht aus dem Müllauto geborgen werden. So wurde der Wagen samt Container zu einem Hof in Berlin-Spandau transportiert. Die betroffenen Arbeiter kamen unter Schock mit einem Rettungswagen ins Bundeswehrkrankenhaus.
